Dusikot by Adam Majdecki-Janicki

Dusikot by Adam Majdecki-Janicki

Dusikot was the first recording of 2018 cut under my birth name, though some source materials for this album date back as far as 2001. I used old tapes from jam sessions and mixed them with recent noise improvisations, ambient textures, and mystical atmospheres. The album is more electro- than -acoustic, but it takes the directions first explored on Flesh Maneuvers further and enables me to think freely of sound and art as my natural environment. I used some drum machines, some VST synthesizers, but also acoustic and electric guitars, and keyboards. The album was recorded in a meditative-like state caused by mind-altering substances, Polish wintertime, and Polish sense of humor. The noise textures here are actually quite ear-friendly, and ear-friendly textures quite noisey. You can experience many states of self while soaking in the ambience of this LP. You can even imagine traveling back in time to 1968 to the first sessions at the infamous Zodiak club in Berlin. The electronic track "Village Daughters" was first released on a compilation album by the Chilean netlabel Cian Orbe.

Flesh Maneuvers of the Soul Ship by Adam Majdecki-Janicki

Flesh Maneuvers of the Soul Ship by Adam Majdecki-Janicki

Flesh Maneuvers was originally sent to Bill Shute of Kendra Steiner Editions after he released the "Stoned Gypsy Wanderer" album on CD-R in 2014. He said it's a nice noise album, but wasn't really interested in releasing another A.J. Kaufmann CD-R. So, Flesh Maneuvers ended up being released in April 2015 as the second Adam Majdecki-Janicki LP. In this material, focus was on drone, ambient, and noise, and I also used some original 2002 tape source material I had recorded with Mateusz Nowicki. The album was built around a burroughsian concept of a "Soul Ship" - the real traveler in the human body, maneuvering through life and death. The album is very mystical and I originally wanted to read some poetry over the instrumental recordings, but abandoned the idea as soon as I realized I actually hate my reading voice. So, the album was left in its original form, and as such uploaded to my bandcamp on April 21 2015.

Rough Melodies for Lady Neverwere by Adam Majdecki-Janicki

Rough Melodies for Lady Neverwere by Adam Majdecki-Janicki

Rough Melodies is the first album released under my birth name. It was recorded in the summer of 2014. It contains 10 raw acoustic demos of pop songs. Chronologically, it belongs before 2011 "Second Hand Man", but was home-recorded later than this studio album, placing it nearer 2014 "Stoned Gypsy Wanderer". I didn't have the time to properly record these songs, so I have decided to release demos for them instead. They were written in my old Bukowska apartment (Grunwald, Poznań, Poland). I remember spending nights with a cheap Stratocaster copy guitar writing down lyrics and melodies and chords in a frenzy. The songs were written for a girl I was fascinated with, but we never really were together. So, "Lady Neverwere", was born. I later wrote a song called "Lady Neverwere", but it is not included in this album. The "Rough Melodies" part is easy to explain, as this is what essentially this album is, a rough sketch of midnight moods and melodies.
